The Veil: An Anniversary Tradition
When Jeremy and I got married on June 2, 2006 I decided it was not going to be the one and only day I would wear my wedding veil. First, it is just FUN to wear! And second, I paid way to much money for the beautiful, bridal accessory to only wear it once, and have it hang in my closet for decades.
Sure, I could get my dress out and put that on too, but the dress take a lot of work to get out since it was cleaned and preserved after our wedding. Also, letโs be honest, while I would like to think my dress would still fit, it may be a bit small for me these days.
I have taken my veil out every single year and have worn it. Sometimes around the house for the day. Other years, I would wear it to whatever events, errands, etc. I was doing for the day. While I wish I had pictures of every year since 2006, I do not. Here are some of the years captured around the world!
Fun Facts:
Jeremy HATES taking these pictures each year. He does it because he loves me.
Jeremy hates taking these pictures because it draws attention to us and we always get โcongratulations!โ from folks thinking we just got married. Then we have to explain the tradition.
I think Jeremy secretly LOVES this tradition more than he loves me.
